FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about the Atlas platform: sign-up, integration, commissions, Coach, and API.
What types of sites are accepted?
Travel blogs, visa comparison sites, online travel agencies, content creators, niche forums. We don't accept pure cashback sites, unsolicited browser extensions, or sites that don't comply with Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA and Quebec's Law 25).
How long does approval take?
On average, 24 business hours. We review your site, your declared audience, and your eligibility for the target market. You'll receive an email with access to your dashboard as soon as you're approved.
Do I need an insurance licence to join?
No. You distribute tracking links and tools; you never sell, quote, or underwrite a policy yourself. HelloSafe is an independent travel insurance marketplace that compares plans from licensed Canadian insurers, and partners earn a commission on purchases without holding any insurance licence.
When do I get paid?
Validated sales (after the policy review period has passed) are consolidated on the 1st of the following month. Payment is processed on the 15th. Your choice of Interac e-Transfer, direct deposit, or Wise. All figures are in CAD.
Can I target multiple countries?
Yes. That's one of the program's strengths: a single link automatically routes the visitor to the translated and locally priced page for their country. You can also force a specific language or market for targeted campaigns.
How long is the attribution cookie?
90 days, compared to 30-45 days at most competing programs. Standard last-click: if multiple partners are involved, the commission goes to the last referrer, in line with IAB standards.
Do you offer real deep links?
Yes, to every page of the comparison tool (travel insurance, visitor and super-visa cover, snowbird and long-stay, student, and more) and to each individual offer page. It's a meaningful differentiator: several established programs have removed deep linking in recent months. We keep it because it's what drives conversion.
Can I integrate HelloSafe through Impact, Partnerize, Awin, or Voluum?
Yes. We expose a standard S2S postback that connects natively to Impact.com, Partnerize, Awin, Voluum, RedTrack, and Everflow. We can also push conversions directly into your BI via webhook. Native HelloSafe tracking is still available if you'd rather skip a third-party platform.
Are commissions recurring?
Yes, on renewals: if a traveller purchases an annual policy and then renews it, you earn the commission again. That's what turns travel insurance affiliate revenue into a cumulative income stream rather than a one-time payout.
Is there an API?
Yes. Conversion webhooks are live and available now for all partners. A Quote & bind REST API (with endpoints for quotes, offers, coverages, and commissions) is available in private beta; request early access from your dashboard. OpenAPI documentation is included.
Can I use the HelloSafe brand on my site?
Yes, within the partner brand kit (logos, badges, mentions) available in your dashboard. Bidding on the HelloSafe brand name in paid search ads is prohibited. This is a standard clause in the agreement.
Is Atlas suited for OTAs and booking platforms?
Yes. Atlas is built for every player in travel: blogs and creators (tracked links, sub-IDs), agencies and tour operators (Coach + links), OTAs and booking platforms (REST API, white-label widget, checkout add-on), fintechs and visa services. The integration model adapts to your business. Technical platforms can request early API access from their dashboard.
Can I integrate Atlas without writing any code?
Yes. Tracked links and the comparison widget are available with no engineering required. Generate a link from your dashboard and place it wherever you want: article, email, WhatsApp, bio link. For a deeper integration (white-label widget, checkout add-on), a few lines of HTML are enough. The REST API is available in private beta for teams that want a fully embedded flow.
What's the difference between the widget and the tracked link?
A tracked link takes the visitor to the HelloSafe comparison tool on our domain. It's the fastest option, with no setup. A widget embeds the comparison tool directly on your page, under your colours and domain. Both give access to the same plans and the same commissions. Tracked links suit blog posts, newsletters, and social posts; the widget suits high-traffic sites that want to minimize redirects.
How is insurance regulated, and where does HelloSafe fit?
Insurance in Canada is regulated province by province; there is no national insurance licence. HelloSafe works with insurers and partners authorized in their provinces, and we never sell or underwrite a policy ourselves. We help travellers compare and connect with licensed providers across Canada, so you can distribute with confidence.
